It is scarcely an overstatement to say that if this book were read, and heeded, by this epoch, the Gadarene Slide on which modern culture finds itself would be halted. In this slender volume we find the authentic vision of what womanhood is. Dr. von Hildebrand takes us to the very substance of the ineffable mystery of gender.---Thomas Howard Best-selling author In the fifty years I have followed the teachings and writings of Alice von Hildebrand, I can say that Man and Woman: A Divine Invention is the greatest. You will find in Man and Woman: A Divine Invention fresh illuminating ideas about motherhood, virginity, and the exclusion of women from the priesthood. Every woman should read Alice von Hildebrand's book, and also give it to family members and friends.---Ronda Chervin Professor of philosophy at Holy Apostles College & Seminary of Connecticut This book is a profound meditation on the superiority of being over bustling, of love over the impress of one's will, and of receptivity to God over what we take to be our creative ingenuity. As such it poses challenges to those creatures we call men and women, but in different ways. Dr. von Hildebrand reminds men that, apart from the genius for the personal and the concrete that women possess, they become the architects of heresy and inhumanity. She reminds women, meanwhile, of their at once humble and high calling to motherhood, physical or spiritual. It is a work steeped in the reverence she enjoins upon us all.---Anthony Esolen Professor of Renaissance English literature at Providence College, Rhode Island

The central theme of this book is that it's not enough to invoke omnipotence and omniscience as answers to the questions of God’s ability to create and causally affect the world (i.e., perform miracles) and human beings (i.e., to cause mystical experiences) and, conversely, God’s ability to perceive, or otherwise know about the world. Rather, it is incumbent upon theists to explain just how a personal, immaterial being such as God could cause mundane events, could institute (and sometimes circumvent) laws of nature, could be causally affected by the world (as in perception), and the like. That requires examining current thinking (which is diverse) about the very nature of causation, laws of nature, and agency, all of which Fales endeavors to do in this study.

From the Ireland of St. Brendan to the baking deserts of Death Valley-- from the ancient rites of the Druata to the televangelists of modern times-- from the source of the greatest of human evils comes the tale of a demon with the most terrifying powers ever known-- A street bum finds all the water in his body turned to wine-- on a hospital AIDS ward, a young man checked at 7:00pm is found dead an hour later, his body appearing as if it had lain in the sun for three days -- a homeless woman accepts a gift of bread and fish from a stranger, only to find it multiply within her, exploding her from within-- Reverend Carrillee Maitland can find no sense or link between these bizarre deaths, and in an election year, there simply is no street crime in the city. It takes the assistance of Nick Praetorius, a man with a mysterious medallion and a centuries-old manuscript, to help Carrillee discover that not everyone’s idea of divine intervention is the same. The culmination of a lifetime's scholarly work, this pioneering study by Sister Prudence Allen traces the concept of woman in relation to man in Western thought from ancient times to the present. In her third and final volume Allen covers the years 1500-2015, continuing her chronological approach to individual authors and also offering systematic arguments to defend certain philosophical positions over against others. Building on her work from Volumes I and II, Allen draws on four "communities of discourse"--Academic, Humanist, Religious, and Satirical--as she traces several recurring strands of sex and gender identity from the Renaissance to the present. Now complete, Allen's magisterial study is a valuable resource for scholars and students in the fields of women's studies, philosophy, history, theology, literary studies, and political science.

In January 2010, the author had a continuing vision of a medieval square he'd neither seen nor visited before in BANSKA BYSTRICA, SLOVAKIA. Later that year, events unfolded whereby the author and two friends embarked on a 4,000 mile journey across Europe. This vision would later see him staying for over four years in Banska Bystrica to paint an enormous (6 metres wide by 4 metres high) painting, showing over 500 children from around the world, which will bring peace to the conflict between Palestine and Israel. The painting is called 'Children Are the Future' and encoded within it is a message for peace between Palestine and Israel. The prophecy he had received twenty years before, that the world was getting ever closer to a theatre of crisis, makes him believe that a Divine Intervention is taking place, using him as a vehicle to bring peace and to give the message of the meaning and purpose of life. This is part of the journey that has led to the present day of November 1st, 2016.
